Data deletion
How to remove the data KonvoLead holds: for a business that connected its WhatsApp number to us, and for anyone who messaged or spoke with a business that uses KonvoLead. Last updated 26 October 2026.
1. What we receive when a business connects WhatsApp
A business connects its WhatsApp number to KonvoLead through Meta’s sign-up window (Facebook Login for Business). Meta then gives us:
- ·the IDs of the business portfolio, the WhatsApp Business Account and its phone numbers;
- ·the account’s name, currency, time zone, review and verification status, messaging limit and whether a payment method is set, and each number’s display number, display name, quality rating and status;
- ·an access token that lets KonvoLead send and receive messages and manage message templates on that account. We store it encrypted and never show it to anyone, including the business. When we register a number for messaging, we also keep the two-step verification PIN it was registered with, encrypted.
We do not receive your Facebook password, your personal Facebook profile or anything else from your Facebook account: the person who signs in only authorises the connection. The messages sent and received on the number, the message templates you create, and the leads and conversations they lead to are stored for the business as part of the service, as our privacy policy describes.
2. Disconnect WhatsApp: access stops at once
- 1Sign in to KonvoLead and open the WhatsApp page.
- 2Press Disconnect on the account and confirm. KonvoLead deletes the access token straight away and stops sending and receiving on that account.
You can also remove KonvoLead from Meta’s side: in Meta Business Suite, open Business settings, then Integrations, then Connected apps, choose KonvoLead and remove it. Meta then stops accepting our access to your accounts and tells us, and we stop using them.
Disconnecting changes nothing at Meta. Your number stays registered, your message templates stay on your WhatsApp Business Account, and you can keep using them in WhatsApp Manager or with another provider. If we registered the number, we keep its encrypted two-step verification PIN so that connecting it again works; it is deleted with the rest when you ask us to (below).
3. Ask us to delete your data
Email hello@konvolead.com with the subject “Data deletion request”, from the email address of an admin of your KonvoLead account or of your Meta business portfolio. Tell us the business name and the WhatsApp numbers, and whether you want only the WhatsApp connection removed or your whole KonvoLead account closed.
We confirm your request within 7 days and complete it within 30 days. We delete:
- ·the WhatsApp account and number records, and the encrypted access token and PIN;
- ·our copies of your message templates. The templates on your WhatsApp Business Account stay yours: delete them in WhatsApp Manager if you want them gone too;
- ·if you close your KonvoLead account: your leads, conversations, call recordings, knowledge, campaigns and team members. Call recordings are already deleted automatically after 90 days.
We keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices, for as long as it requires, and then delete it. We email you when the deletion is done.
4. If you messaged or spoke with a business that uses KonvoLead
The business you were in touch with decides what happens to your conversation; we store it on their behalf. To stop being contacted, reply STOP on WhatsApp or say so on a call: it is honoured on every channel. To have your data deleted, ask the business, or email hello@konvolead.com with the phone number you used and the business’s name. We pass your request to the business and help them complete it within 30 days.
5. What deletion does not cover
Messages already delivered to your phone stay in your WhatsApp app. What Meta holds about your WhatsApp Business Account is governed by Meta’s own policies. Copies in our backups are overwritten in the normal backup cycle.
